The school is situated adjacent to the church of St Mary Magdalene,
and is supported by the Diocese of St Albans.

The Vicar holds a Christian service fortnightly in the church for the school as well as playing an active role on the Governing body. We promote the intellectual, spiritual, cultural and moral development of the children through a broad, balanced and differentiated activities which meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and the Diocese.

 The Diocese of St Albans

Roxton V.A. Primary School is a Church of England School within the Diocese of St Albans. ‘V.A.’ means ‘Voluntary Aided’.

The Diocese support the appointment of Foundation Governors to our Governing Body; one of which must be the parent of a registered pupil at the school. The Diocese has its own Board of Education and Centre in Welwyn Garden City. It covers Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and has its own Cathedral and administrative headquarters in the City of St Albans. It is one of 43 dioceses which make up the Church of England.
