Admissions Policy

Our arrangements for the admission of pupils follow the general principles laid down in the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Once registered with our school and having been offered a place, children may start in the Foundation class at the beginning of the term that follows their fourth birthday.

Prior to this our Foundation teacher will arrange a home visit at the end of the term before starting. This visit enables children to meet us in their own surroundings, and gives parents the opportunity to talk to us about their child and ask any questions that they might have. Parents are also invited to the school (whilst their child attends a ‘taster’ session) to meet and talk with the Headteacher and Foundation teacher.

In year transfers

If you are looking to transfer your child from another school, please contact your local authority as well as the school to ensure the correct procedure is followed.

Parents wishing to send their child to Roxton are welcome to visit the school to see the children at work, meet the staff and ask any questions they may have. Visits can be arranged by telephoning the school office (01234 870230).
